Shades of the Season New Years Eve Nails!

This look comes from the Shades of the Season collection from CVS i mentioned in my last post. I achieved this look using the frost navy blue color and the orange jelly-looking multi-colored glitter on top. The picture below is two coats of the blue with two coats of the glitter.

My Christmas Nails! Shades of the Season & e.l.f.

Christmas morning, i opened up "Shades of the Season" nail polish tubes! My dad got them for me a couple years ago, so when i requested them this year, he got me two tubes! a "classic" and a "glitter" collection. These tubes are 10 nail polishes high and are 10 dollars! what a steal! So, i had already painted my nails a dark red from e.l.f. called Cranberry. So i got this green and silver glitter from the "glitter" tube and went to work.

I have done this method with a cosmetic sponge (the kind you can use for foundation), and it works great, however, when i did them this time, i was too lazy to go and get one, so i did one thin layer of the glitter and dabbed it towards my cuticle with my finger! I repeated this process with the green glitter to achieve this effect.

These nail polish tubes are found exclusively at cvs, and if they're still out (my dad had to ask for them, so don't be shy) GET THEM!!! they are so awesome. I will make another post soon on the whole set!!

Hope you guys had a merry christmas (or whatever holiday you were celebrating!)

Multi-colored Holo on my nail over Cranberry by e.l.f.

i know the color combo isn't great, but i thought it was going to just be whiteish! oopsie!
After my base polish was opaque, i painted one finger at a time. Paint one coat and while it is wet, dip your nail in the glitter or sprinkle it over your nail (over a piece of paper) and funnel it back into the container. After you've done that to each nail once, you can top it with a wet clear coat and do another layer of glitter or just finish it there with the top coat!

I put two coats of glitter on and a clear topcoat.

go out and experiment for yourself! :)

YAY happy thursday

ImPRESS Press-on Nail Manicures (Thanks Influenster!)

Hi guys! how are you doing today? hopefully really well!
So, recently, i got a college Voxbox from Influenster. (dont know what influenster is? go here: www.influenster.com) They sent me a box of free products to review that were targeted for a college audience. In this box, i received imPRESS nails in the pattern Space Cadet.
Overall, these nails surprised me because they were nothing like acrylics, which i dislike. Instead, they were super easy to apply, super easy to take off and didn't damage my nails! Not to mention they looked awesome. They were a good length and included over 20 nails to accommodate different nail sizes! They lasted a long time and i took them off because i wanted to paint my nails. haha. Make sure to lay all of the nails out you plan to use in front of you so you don't get them mixed up. I would definitely buy more if there was a special occasion or even if i wasn't great at doing my own nails! This pattern was also VERY pretty.

They retail from $4.99-$7.99 depending on if you get a solid of a patterned color.

I'm sorry my picture is so crappy. I do recommend this and i appreciate Influenster for sending them to me to try out!!

Have a great day!

e.l.f. Essential Holiday 15-Piece Nail Polish Set - Limited Edition! +SWATCHES

Hi there! I come to you with a huge post. I got my e.l.f. stuff in the mail today, and i received my 15-piece nail set from e.l.f.! a holiday limited edition set! first, i got these on their website (although i also saw it in stores) because i ordered it on cyber monday and it was half off (along with everything else in my order). It's originally $15 and i got it for $7.50! that's $.50 per nail polish! cool! That's one PRO about e.l.f. they almost always have a sale going on or a coupon code to get something for cheaper.

SO, i swatched ALL of them and will pick one to wear and see how it lasts and update this post later this week! i swatched the glitters last so i could put them on top of the dark colors. :) enjoy! p.s. these bottles are minis. probably .25 fl (although it doesn't say on the bottle)

HERE WE GO:
(from left to right: Fairy Dust, Golden Goddess, Blush, Red Velvet, Metal Madness)

(Nude, Smoky Brown, Mod Mauve, Chocolate, Plum)

(Dark Red, Party Purple, Emerald, Dark Navy, Black)

SWATCHES! i used two coats unless otherwise stated!

Blush.
This color is really pretty and a nice choice when wanting subtleness! as you can see, it's somewhere in between a goldy-pinky color. it's beautiful and wasn't that streaky for being a metallic-y color.

Red Velvet.
This is a beautiful RED RED color. it's bright and metallic-y and perfect for the holidays! this was also super easy to apply and pretty!

Metal Madness.
This is so so so pretty! its a metal metallic color with rainbow sparkles in it! this color seemed a little chunky to apply (because of the glitters I'm assuming) but it was overall good after two coats and it was supa dupa pretty!

Nude.
This is a nudey color (obviously, haha) and it has an orange undertone. It is dark enough to not make me look super pale, but I'm not sure if i like nude polishes in general. haha. It was a very smooth and creamy finish though!

Smoky Brown.
A really beautiful light brown with a creamy finish. Perfect for the winter and fall! it's a little gray under toned, but still very brown!

Mod Mauve.
Those pictures are the same polish! whatt! haha, it just looks different under different light. However, this is an awesome pinky mauve color that is sooo pretty. It's so creamy and it makes me feel girly but antique. does that make sense? idk.

Chocolate.
a very dark brown. this color could've probably used 3 coats because it left a couple spots on my nails naked! however, it is a pretty dark brown color. It really does look like chocolate!

Plum.
I was really excited about this color, but it was kinda patchy! i used three coats on my middle finger, and you can definitely tell the difference it makes. It is a beautiful berry color and i really like it! i was just too impatient to wait for my coats to dry!

Dark Red.
This is pretty self explanatory. This color is a dark red and also could've used three coats. It has a creamy finish too.

Party Purple.
similar to the Metal Madness, it seemed kinda chunky to apply, but after two coats, it was okay and had a beautiful finish! it is so sparkly and it really is a "party purple". i usually don't love glittery colors, but i liked all of the ones in this set!

Emerald.
I love this color! it looks soo much better and much darker in person. Also not as see through. haha. But, its an olive/dark green with gold flecks in it! so pretty! It couldve used three coats, but it was lovely. it applied like Party Purple and Metal Madness.

Navy.
This color is so pretty too! it is a dark navy/black with navy/blue sparkles in it! they are teeny tiny, which i love, so it made it look super reflective and pretty!

Fairy Dust.
I have been awaiting this bottle's arrival for a long time. I even ordered a regular size bottle because i love it so much! it's a flakie nail polish that shows shades of orange, red, yellow and green. Sooo pretty. i like it paired over dark colors, but I'm sure it would look awesome over any color! This is over Navy.

These pictures are in different angles of natural light so you can see!

oops.. now you know i didn't paint my thumb.. hehe

Black.
original name. haha. This is a very opaque creamy black. simple as that.

Golden Goddess.
This is so pretty! it has micro gold glitters and larger ones too, so after one coat, it looked like this! it's so pretty and would spruce up any color. This is over Black. This would be perfect for New Years! :)

Here's a close up!

Okay guys, that's all of the polishes in the set! i hope you liked them. as i said, i will give my full rating on them once i give a color a little time and see how it does. (crossing my fingers it wont chip really fast!!)

have a great Saturday!!
